Ever feel frustrated by those well meaning folks who tell you to 'take time for you,' 'feel your feelings,' or 'just be alone for a while'? While you get the wisdom in this advice, most likely no one has ever taught you HOW to do it:

✓ To be with yourself in a loving way through a non-rational, non-linear process of transformation.
✓ To navigate the scary loss of your identity.
✓ To let go in a way that is healing and to allow a new self to emerge on its own timeline.

When you cut yourself your body knows how to heal, you don’t actually have to do anything to make that happen, right? BUT, you can help the process along by cleaning the wound, applying cream and a bandage.

Session #1: Taming Your Reptile Brain: Why Losing a Relationship is So Hard

SAT April 21st, 10am – 12:30pM

SAN FRANCISCO  - Marina

First, we’ll understand how attachment works, how losing our main someone triggers disorienting feelings – even when the relationship is bad! Learn about the changes that take place in your brain and nervous system that account for some of your 'crazy' (seeing him everywhere, stalking his Instagram anyone?) so that you can cope better.
✓ Understand what happens when you lose your primary attachment, your main person.
✓ Learn about the changes in your brain and what to expect when your reptile survival system kicks in.
✓ Begin to make sense of your post breakup fight or flight mode symptoms – no, you are not crazy!

Session #2: Befriending Your Fear : Help, I’ll Never Meet Anyone!!

Sat May 19th, 10am – 12:30pm

SAN FRANCISCO - MARINA

Next, we’ll explore how this fight/flight state impacts your thinking by kicking off fear spirals. A fear spiral is a pattern of thinking that seems like a truth about you or the world (for starters, ‘I’ll never meet anyone’) but is actually only your mind’s attempt to keep you safe.
✓ Get friendly with your fear spirals: discover what they are and practice identifying yours so that they don’t run the show.
✓ Learn to spot fear spirals and feelings inside yourself and why it’s important to know the difference.

Session #3: How to Navigate Your Fear and Get Your Life Back

SAT June 16th, 10am – 12:30pm

SAN FRANCISCO  - MARINA

You’ll begin to identify your particular fear spirals, track them in awareness, and learn how to shift out of this state so you don't get caught. We’ll discover how the feelings that accompany fear spirals are actually different than emotions, and what to do about each. Finally, you’ll develop a plan for what to do when times get rough.
✓ What to do and what not to do when you’re caught in a fear spiral (hint, it’s totally different than working with a feeling).
✓ Create a personalized plan of action for danger times (weekends, anyone?)

I’m really happy being a part of this group and I’m seeing that we all have so many common challenges, feelings, and experiences with our transitions. I’ve never really been in a group like this before but I feel pretty comfortable sharing with these women and I’ve gained a lot of comfort hearing their stories. The overall experience so far has been really valuable and I look forward to getting to know all the women better. ~ M.C.
